Wow, what a reception for the touring Honeycomb Project at the Mills Station Arts and Culture Center! The exhibit featured over 900 hexagonal panels from 500 artist spanning 14 states.
My contribution is the Zen Garden series. It was inspired by my own Japanese garden. The series of botanical (actual plants from my garden) monotypes (one time hand pulled print) are on delicate tissue paper are adorned with sun-like gold leaf, expressive abstract flourishes, and a vermilion chop. After 30 years of cultivation, my garden—like my art—is a practice in patience and presence. It’s not about perfection, but the quiet fulfillment found in process.
