Left Unspoken Below The Surface

My series “Read between the lines” artistically explores communication and thought symbolically in black and white.
In Left Unspoken Below the Surface words and meaning are never really black and white even though the composition is. By working within linear boundaries on the canvas I create the tension, while showing literal grey areas that allow for interpretation. Note that the negative and positive pattern changes signal changing perspectives or flipping your opinion. In the end what appears to be clear, is in fact abstract as illustrated by the asemic writing buried in the middle of the composition. The writing symbolizes what you have left unspoken below the surface.
